Racism, and Racist, are bad words. It’s not so much that they are meant to describe a nasty human trait, but that they are etymologically incorrect. (My wife opined, correctly I believe, that they’re political words.) Every human being is of the same race, that is, the human race, so it follows that the only racists are haters of humans, individuals like David Suzuki who has described humans as the Earth’s “maggots”. (Comically hypocritical coming from a guy who has five kids.)
The correct word is Other-ism, and we’re all potential Other-ists. We’re prone to looking at others and making judgments based on their “other” skin colour, clothing, ethnic origin, caste, tribe, weight, occupation, and anything else whereby we can identify them as being other and lesser than us, and therefore us being better than them. Other-ism is the root cause of bullying, unjustified discrimination, and indifference.
Other-ism lurks in every human heart, and left unchecked becomes part of our life and our culture. India is Possibly the most Other-ist nation on earth. in addition to all the standard Other-isms, divisions based on the caste system still exist, and why wouldn’t they? In Eastern religions, your situation, good or bad, is simply karma for your deeds in a previous incarnation. If you’re an Untouchable (Dalit) cleaning sewers, (pictured), that’s your lot in this life, and it’s your own fault.
In Africa, Other-ism is rampant. Other tribe, other social status, other rung on the upward mobility ladder, even other shade of brown. I was in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and had invited our driver from a previous trip, and his wife, to join me at my hotel for dinner. They were Aggrey and Anna Mponguliana, and during dinner we discovered that they, and Meritha and I, had been married the same year. The conversation turned to our courtships, and Anna revealed to me that Aggrey had paid 10 cows for her. Then she added, that if her skin had been lighter, Aggrey might have had to pay 20 cows. I suggested that Homo sapiens, which ironically means “wise humans”, should actually be called Homo stupidus, because while Africans and Asians go to great lengths to lighten their skin colour, Caucasians lie on the beach risking skin cancer to look more like Africans and Asians.
On every trip to Africa, I experienced Other-ism myself. I learned a few words of Swahili, and one of them was Mzungu, meaning white man, and many times in elevators and on the streets, it was pretty clear that the Mzungu was being dissed.
I once was told that aboriginal North Americans could not possibly be racist, (Other-ist) because they were themselves subjected to Other-ism. A few weeks later, a prominent aboriginal chief stated, publicly, that Hitler had not been unreasonable when he “fried 6 million Jews”.
Other-ism is found in every culture, but it’s solution is not to be found in legislation, nor in burning down your neighborhood. Rather, it’s in a change of perspective brought about by self-examination. Other-ism is rooted in PRIDE, and as CS Lewis said, pride is what turned Lucifer, an angel of light, into the Devil himself. Pride lurks in every human heart, and it’s in our individual hearts that solutions begin.
Almost everyone experiences Other-ism at some point in their life, and every one of us, without exception, is a potential Other-ist. Let’s begin solving Other-ism by ruthlessly rooting out the problem where it starts.

Next blog; Tribalism; the good, the bad, and the ugly. And the stupid.
For those who like to be informed, there are a couple of really big events coming up in the next few weeks in Calgary. The first event is the Things that Matter Conference, February 8 and 9 at the Best Western, Port O’ Call. Sponsored by the Essentials of Freedom organization, it has an incredible lineup of speakers. Here are a few.
Dr. John Robson is probably Canada’s leading expert on the freedoms that have been won in the 800 years since Magna Carta, and how quickly we are losing them in Canada.
Dr. Jack Mintz of the University of Calgary is one of the world’s most respected economists, who recognizes that, financially at least, Alberta would be better off as an independent country.
Dr. Ted Morton is Canada’s leading expert on the chaotic, and grossly unfair equalization formula, and how it must be fixed.
John Carpay LL.B. is founder of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedom, JCCF, and Canada’s strongest fighter against the erosion of our fundamental freedoms, by governments at the provincial and federal level.
Dr. Patrick Moore was a co-founder of Greenpeace. In 1971 Moore’s co-founder, Bob Hunter wrote, “Moore was quickly accepted into the inner circle (of Greenpeace) on the basis of his scientific background, his reputation [as an environmental activist], and his ability to inject practical, no-nonsense insights into the discussions.”
I’m a big believer in no-nonsense. But now, Dr. Moore repudiates Greenpeace for its utter abandonment of science in favour of political advocacy. Sadly, Greenpeace has degenerated into an organization mostly known for its stunts.
I took the trouble to look up their Board of Directors, and I couldn’t find one scientist among them. Almost every board member of this bloated, $300 million a year, emotion peddling business, has a social activist background.
We’ve been to The Essentials of Freedom Conference since its inception and it’s gotten better every year. This year will be the best yet, and there will be guests from the US and all areas of Canada, from Québec to Vancouver Island.
The other upcoming big event is Barack Obama on March 5. Obama was a community organizer who became President of the United States from January 2009 to January 2017.
During his time as President, Barack Obama doubled the US national debt; ignored the rise of ISIS in the Middle East leading to one of the biggest humanitarian crises so far in the 21st century; foolishly declared that the Cold War was over and stood by while Vladimir Putin rolled his tanks over his neighbours; and, by constantly and prematurely injecting himself into domestic racial incidents, set back American race relations by two generations.
Meritha and I are already registered for one of these events, and you can guess which one it is. Hope to see you there!
In Alberta, it now seems that every time something comes up regarding an LGBT issue, Kristopher Wells pops up as the go to expert; always against parents, and always on the side of “progress” Let’s look at what Kristopher Wells means by progress.
Wells is a professor, and a confidant of Alberta’s Education Minister, David Eggen. About three years ago, Mr. Eggen engaged Wells to supervise the construction and launch of Alberta Education’s Gay Straight Alliance, or GSA, website. For several months no one paid attention, but then, Edmonton mother, Theresa Ng who is now with Parents for Choice, decided to have a look.
Ms. Ng found numerous links from the GSA website to sexually explicit sites. If you haven’t already, it’s very important that you follow the link. You need to be aware of these sites, included the one that gave instructions on “25 sex positions you can try at home”, and another on how to give oral sex. For 5 years and up?!
When confronted with absoluteproof of the links – Theresa Ng had presciently taken screenshots of the linked websites – the links were removed. But then Kristopher Wells took to social media to denounce Ms. Ng for being “hysterical” and “sensationalist.” Are you serious? In what demented world is a mother being hysterical by objecting to explicitly sexual content being provided, unbeknownst to her, to her children?
Judging by his verbal attack on Theresa Ng, Mr. Wells feels that making such material available to five, six, seven, and eight-year-olds is desirable. Anyone that thinks that way is, at the very least, exhibiting an appalling lack of judgment. There might also be serious psychological issues involved, for which Mr. Wells would deserve our sympathy.
But in either or both cases, Mr. Wells should not be allowed to have anything whatsoever to do with the education of Alberta’s children. Yet Mr. Wells is still looked to as an advisor by Education Minister David Eggen; and was the keynote speaker at an Alberta Teachers Association conference last summer. Alberta parents, that middle finger was for you.
Wells is also used as a source by the media, including, the Calgary Herald, the Calgary Sun, the CBC, and the consistently ridiculous, Star Metro. That the media would look to such an individual for comment says volumes about media elitists disdain for science, decency, and basic common sense, and their insouciant disregard for the innocence of children.
Or maybe they’re just too lazy to investigate, and can thereby claim ignorance. Whatever; when a member of the media quotes Kristopher Wells be aware that he’s the guy who thinks it’s OK to provide Alberta’s little children with quick access to explicit sexual instructions.
These facts tell you everything you need to know before you vote in the upcoming Alberta election. Because, knowing all these facts – and she must have – Rachel Notley has continued with David Eggen as Minister of Education, which, in practical terms, makes her complicit in what normal people would see as the corruption of minors.
Here’s what Pennsylvania law says regarding the corruption of minors. “(ii) Whoever, being of the age of 18 years and upwards, by any course of conduct in violation of Chapter 31 (relating to sexual offenses) corrupts or tends to corrupt the morals of any minor less than 18 years of age, or who aids, abets, entices or encourages any such minor in the commission of an offense under Chapter 31 commits a felony of the third degree.” Under 18? What about providing sexually explicit material to children under 8?
Luckily for Ms. Notley, Mr. Eggen, and Mr. Wells, they live in Alberta, because in Pennsylvania it’s possible they could be charged with a felony and imprisoned. Not a bad idea in my opinion, but in Alberta, the best we can do and must do, four months from now, is throw the creeps out!

Please Share with your email list and Like on Facebook and Twitter! Social media is the culture shaping tool of the 21st century, so let’s use it! It’s vitally important that we have informed Albertans before the provincial election this spring.
I’ve been to Africa several times, and I can tell you that hyenas are not well liked. Hyenas appear cowardly, and they have a weird laughing yap that sounds a bit creepy, and they are reputed to grab children. Probably rare, but it has happened.
Which brings me to the title of this blog. I’ll wager that most people in the LGBT community support the rainbow flag. I’ll also wager that most of them simply want to live their lives as good citizens of their city and country, and to allow others live their lives as they see fit. At least that’s been my observation over nearly 60 years.
In 1963, my very naïve, 19-year-old self headed off to the big city, where I soon found a job. One of the fellows I worked with was homosexual. (It took me about four months to figure it out because I honestly could not believe that a guy could not like girls. And “gay” had nothing to do with homosexuality.)
We remained friends, although 1963 was six years before the gay rights movement even got started, and having a homosexual friend was not always comfortable. “Beating up Fags” was Saturday night entertainment for some, maybe the cops would pitch in to to help! Friends of homosexuals were often viewed with suspicion and contempt.
I thought then, and I still do, that the way people in the homosexual/transgender community were treated, was appalling. We’ve made a lot of progress since then, and most people treat LGBT individuals with decency and respect. Governments recognize their rights as citizens and taxpayers. But as is usually the case with human societies, we’ve gone almost directly from one ditch, way past the centre, through the other ditch, and we’re now far into the swamp, and are sinking fast.
Because there is a cohort, a pack embedded within the LGBT community, that used to be known as “recruiters”. I call them hyenas. Those are people who watch for children with social vulnerabilities; awkwardness, shyness around the opposite sex or obvious gender confusion, and they try to guide or entice them into the LGBT lifestyle.
Last week I blogged about the naked hypocrisy of the Progressivist politicians and media attack on civil rights lawyer, John Carpay, for mentioning the Nazi swastika, and the Communist hammer and sickle, and the Rainbow Flag, in the same sentence.
Mr. Carpay had every reason to do so. Contrary to national and international law, this totalitarian minded pack of hyenas has legislated that parents cannot be informed if their children are experiencing gender confusion. Not even 5, 6, 7, and 8 year olds! Coming between children and their parents to create the society they wanted was a standard Nazis and Communist tactic. John Carpay was absolutely right to make his comparison.
Yapping and circling, Alberta’s Minister of Education and his advisors, apparently with the approval of the premier, are hell-bent on grabbing and destroying as many children’s lives as possible. And far too many complicit or lazy journalists yap their approval.
That’s what last week’s blog was about, and if you haven’t read it or passed italong, here’s the link. I have a great-grandson who within two or three years will be in our “education” system, so this issue is very personal to me.
But it’s also happening now, or will happen, wherever you live; in your province, and your state, and your country. That sounds alarmist, but it’s true.
Even as I was working on this blog, there came the sickening news that 17 young people, in one school, in England, most of them autistic, are being groomed to cosmetically change their gender. Follow this link. What these hyenas are doing has no basis in science. In fact, credible child psychologists and researchers say that it’s child abuse. Do ya think?
I have a transgender friend who, even as middle-aged man had his genitals removed and a vagina fashioned. A couple of years later he told me that it had been a terrible mistake and had changed nothing. Studies show that that is the reality for a majority of these permanently mutilated people. Sadly, many commit suicide. And still, the hyenas circle and yap.
It’s my fervent hope that someday these abusers will be hauled into court by their victims, there to be bankrupted by a massive class action lawsuit. Better yet, that someday they are charged with child abuse and sent to prison.
So be informed. Take the time to follow the links. Share with your email list, and on Facebook and Twitter!

Early 2019. This an update to a blog I published on November 15, 2018. The original blog was viewed thousands of times in nearly 50 countries, so I’d like to provide some context for non Canadians.
The NDP is a party in Canada that defines itself as moderately socialist, or Social Democrat. It, (and other left wing parties), has recently become distinctly totalitarian in its ideological approach to many issues, most notably, its sexualization of education from kindergarten through high school. They apparently see no difference between 7 and 17 year olds. What I wrote about has come, or will be coming to your country, unless perhaps you live in Saudi Arabia.
This blog is for our children and grandchildren.
At a conference held in Calgary, Canada on Saturday, November 10, 2018, John Carpay, founder of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedom, made the mistake of putting Nazi and Communist symbols and the rainbow flag in the same sentence. The left lost its mind. Admittedly, in the context of the “gotcha” times in which we live, John’s wording was an invitation for left-wing organizations and commentators to summon their enormous reserves of self-righteous, and entirely hypocritical, indignation.
The Calgary Herald’s Don Braid puffed that, “Vile” is a mild word for John Carpay’s linking of the swastika and the hammer and sickle with the rainbow flag of Gay Pride.” Braid went on: “How is it “hostility toward individual freedoms” when LGBTQ kids are at last accorded some official respect and acceptance — when they are, in fact, granted individual freedom?”
Individual freedom for five, six, seven, and eight-year-olds? Now there’s a postmodern spin on freedom. Freedom from what? Their parents? Freedom to have the nanny-state guide them from what is, almost always, a temporary childhood gender identity confusion, into a permanent state of gender crisis? Freedom for the government to help tomboyish little girls as young as three begin transitioning from their birth gender, to becoming a “chemicals and cosmetics boy”, and freedom for the government to pass a law that says, the parents cannot be told?
Those so-called laws are nationally and internationally, illegal. They are also totalitarian, unscientific, and plainly constitute child abuse. At least, so say many objective scientists in the field of childhood gender identity disorder.
Nazi Germany and Communist Russia and Maoist China all believed in the supremacy of the state, and, as Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister boasted: “The youth belong to us.” And now by their decision to illegally prevent the parents of children as young as five from being told about the sexual identity confusion that their child is experiencing, the NDP is signalling that, exactly like the Nazis, it’s their view that parents and families are subordinate to the state.
But again, regarding children’s rights, Don Braid says that: “Any attempt to limit those rights is not a subject for legitimate debate, any more than the rainbow flag is a swastika.” Well Mr. Braid, to be clear, no one, including John Carpay, has ever said the rainbow flag is a swastika. (The notion that children’s rights have no limitations is mindless nonsense)
Actually, limiting the rights of parents to know what’s happening to their children, and, interfering in a child’s right to have the support of their parents is very Nazi-ish, and is most decidedly a topic for a legitimate debate, especially when the government imposing the limits looks for guidance to individuals like Dr. Kristopher Wells. (pictured)
Wells is a professor, and a confidant of Alberta’s education Minister, David Eggen. Mr. Eggen engaged Wells to supervise the construction and launch of Alberta’s Gay Straight Alliance, or GSA, website. For several months, no one paid attention. And then, Edmonton mother, Theresa Ng who is now with Parents for Choice, decided to have a look.
Ms. Ng found numerous links from the Wells supervised GSA website to sexually explicit sites. These sites included one that gave instructions on 25 sexual positions you can try at home, and another on how to give oral sex. There was also a description of felching, a practice so sickening and perverted that I’ll let you look it up for yourself. Remember, the GSA website is government approved for ages five through high school. It’s obviously not approved by parents.
I can imagine NDP supporters saying, actually I’ve talked to NDP supporters who say that they simply can’t believe that what I’m telling them is true. Sadly, it is, and here’s proof. Please scroll all the way to the bottom of the 20 PDFs, because this is what was being provided for your children and grandchildren, and you need to know.
When confronted with proof of the links – Theresa Ng had presciently taken screenshots of the linked websites – the links were removed. But then Kristopher Wells took to social media to denounce Ms. Ng for being “hysterical” and “sensationalist.” Seriously? A mother objecting to explicitly sexual content being provided to her children, without her knowledge or consent, is being hysterical and sensationalist? In what dystopian reality does Mr. Wells live? Again, here’s the link. You decide.
It’s beyond my comprehension, but Kristopher Wells is still an advisor to the NDP Alberta government, and earlier this year was the keynote speaker at an Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) conference. As a parent, does that make you feel comfortable? As an NDP or Progressivist supporter, does that make you feel comfortable? Does it make Don Braid feel comfortable?
Did this cartoon equating Christians to Nazis and ISIS, published on Twitter by Kristopher Wells in June 2016, inspire Don Braid to somewhere call it “vile”? I couldn’t find it. Wells has never apologized, and the CBC, and the Metro Star, a local publication of the almost comically Progressivist Toronto Star, seem to be okay with the cartoon, and with Well’s lack of apology.
I was at the conference at which Mr. Carpay spoke and I listened to his entire speech. Full disclosure: I know John Carpay, and I know with absolute certainty, that to suggest that he broadly equates the rainbow flag with Nazi-ism or Communism is utter nonsense. John is simply one of Canada’s most effective defenders of freedom and so the Progressivist Left hates him.
When a very moderate conservative like John Carpay inadvertently uses words in a way that can be spun negatively, Leftist Progressivists like Don Braid and the left wing media reveal themselves as total hypocrites, and purveyors of fake news.
Because when extremist and totalitarian minded leftists equate Christians with Nazis and ISIS, and defend the radical and extreme sexualization of little children, and specifically associate themselves with the rainbow flag, then people like Don Braid and the Progressivist Left go silent. Instead they use these same extremists as “sources”, and “trusted advisors” and “keynote speakers”.
Back to you Mr. Braid.
I’m Dave Reesor.

The time for timidity and apathy is over!

**In April 2019, the NDP was thrown out of office, and replaced by a more conservative party which is rolling back some of the more extreme ideas of the radicals. But the extremist Progressivists are resisting every step of the way.
In Alberta Politics: Rachel Notley is really concerned that members of the extremist, anti-immigrant group called Soldiers of Odin (SOO) managed to crash a UCP candidate’s fundraiser at an Edmonton pub. The UCP has repudiated them. I’d say, get concerned when a Soldier of Odin becomes a member of the UCP caucus. Not going to happen.
But, the NDP actually has Marxists in their caucus. Marxism is that 20th century plague that destroyed economies around the world and killed a hundred million people. On the other hand, in the last 30 years since the downfall of Marxism, Capitalism has lifted a billion people out of poverty!
But the fact that Marxism and its various offspring; communism, fascism (think Antifa), and socialism, still retain any credibility whatsoever, is testament to the fact that far too many people let their emotions drive their actions instead of letting facts drive their emotions, and, from there, to action. Sadly, our universities, and even our schools are still polluted with Marxism friendly professors, and teachers, and they’re busily indoctrinating your children and grandchildren. Be alarmed!
What’s needed is cultural change, and it needs to start immediately, and we need to recognize that it will be a long term project. After all, the Marxists have spent the last 80 years taking their “long slow march through the institutions of the West.” Google that phrase, and be appalled by how successful they’ve been.
To US politics: Jordan Peterson recently tweeted that he thinks that Brett Kavanaugh, having been duly confirmed as an associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States, should reduce the political heat by stepping down. I disagree, and I suspect that on further reflection, Dr. Peterson will as well.
What Kavanaugh’s accuser said happened 35 years ago was not corroborated, but in fact, repudiated by each the four witnesses that she named. The evidence didn’t come remotely close to implicating Kavanaugh beyond a reasonable doubt, and that used to be the standard we went by.
For the past 60 years or so, Conservatives all over the Western world have been stepping down, backpedaling, and retreating because of pressure, lately manifesting as tantrums, by left-wing politicians, entertainers, and media. Conservatives need to get a backbone.
For Kavanaugh to have stepped down would send the message to the tantrum throwers, that they can control the political agenda just by “pitchin a fit” every time they’re unhappy, which is pretty much all the time. It’s time to shut that down, and Brett Kavanaugh spending the next 30 years on the Supreme Court is a good start.
And now to Science. I got thinking about Meritha’s closet the other day, and that got me thinking about Jordan Peterson’s monster bestseller; “12 Rules for Life, An Antidote to Chaos”. In one chapter, Peterson talks about lobsters and how both we and they arrange ourselves hierarchically, which is apparently due to a genetic connection we had millions of years ago. It’s in our DNA.
I don’t know if anybody has, but I think it would be worthwhile to explore my hypothesis which is that women have an ancient genetic connection to centipedes.
Otherwise, why so many shoes?
**The photo is NOT of Meritha, or her closet! ( After 51 years, my survival instincts are honed)
For those of us in Western Canada, there’s good news because Autumn is (hopefully) coming next week! Autumn and winter got mixed up this year and winter came first. Climate change I presume?
As a long-term subscriber to the Economist magazine, I feel compelled to write to you about my concerns regarding your magazine’s symptoms of extreme Trump Derangement Syndrome or TDS. Since 1843, your magazine has arguably been the premier English language source, worldwide, for hard news, delivered competently and dispassionately. Yet I fear that over the last number of years, and particularly since the candidacy and inauguration of Donald Trump, you have increasingly become an advocacy magazine rather than a news magazine.
No matter what the story, your take is overwhelmingly negative towards anything Donald Trump does. Let me make it clear; I don’t like Donald Trump. He is a bombastic egotist, although I must point out that his predecessor was simply a more refined egotist.
(Regarding this Economist cover: you forget that Trump was elected to shake up (wreck if you will), the failed modus operandi of the past.)
Presidents are not elected to be refined, but to provide leadership; in other words, to get things done. Elegant and articulate speeches that lead nowhere are not leadership. In that regard, Churchill was an articulate leader; Obama was an articulate failure.
Just to give a couple of recent examples of your ever more absurd coverage of all things Trump; you called Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong Un in Singapore “a stunt.” So far, that stunt has brought American hostages home; suspended North Korea’s annual “hate America” festival; and apparently will result in repatriating the bodies of American soldiers killed in the Korean War.
Most importantly, it elicited a commitment from Kim to dismantle his nuclear arsenal. If he fails to do it, sanctions and military exercises can be resumed. That’s a better start than any of Obama’s stunts.
You call the US withdrawal from United Nations Human Rights Council, “an empty gesture.” If so, it’s a long overdue empty gesture. Fiddling around the edges of a hopelessly dysfunctional and discredited organization is a waste of time. The HRC needs to be disbanded, and sanely reconstituted.
Recent separation of illegal immigrant families under the Trump Administration are no different in kind than what happened under the Obama administration, yet under Trump you imply that it’s a far more serious moral issue. Is it?
The manifestations of your magazine’s advanced TDS would fill a book, and it distresses me to say that on things Trump, the Economist now has little more credibility than media organizations like the New York Times, the Washington Post, and CNN; organizations that have made no secret of their intention to forgo objective news in their campaign to unseat Donald Trump.
A Zero-Sum Game is a situation in which one person or group can win something only by causing another person or group to lose it. It’s a central tenet of the left -wing Progressivist worldview. If someone gets richer, then, in their view, someone else must get poorer.
A recent issue of The Economist magazine shows Trump astride a wrecking ball with the accompanying article bemoaning the way Trump is “wrecking” the norms of world trade, and diplomacy. (Which, by the way, is exactly what he was elected to do.)
Then in articles and newscasts, Progressivist media outlets like The Economist, CNN and their ilk, confidently predicted that Trump, because of his propensity to ignore the norms of diplomacy, was going to lose at his summit with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un. And in their worldview, they were proven right. The headline in the following week’s Economist was a play on Kim Jong Un’s name: “KIM JONG WON.”
Well, yes he did. For a couple of days, one of the world’s worst characters was a leading figure on the world stage, and in the world’s media. He met face-to-face with the most powerful man in the world; the President of the United States. They stood side by side. Kim even won the concession that military exercises by the South Koreans and the United States would be suspended.
And in the Progressivist mind, since Kim won those victories, Trump must have lost. Because in the Progressivist mind, life is a zero-sum game.
Progressivists won’t acknowledge that in exchange for Trump suspending military exercises, Kim agreed to de-nuclearize the Korean Peninsula, and that if he fails to do that, the Americans and South Korean can simply resume military exercises and ratchet up the economic sanctions.
Progressivists like to point out that Trump has a big ego. Yes, and so does Kim Jong-Un. Incidentally, so does Barack Obama; otherwise how do you explain a singularly unaccomplished individual accepting a Nobel Peace Prize before he’d done anything? An even moderately humble individual would’ve said: “How about we wait until after my first term and see how things have gone?” (But then, someone who began his run for the presidency by saying that he was going to end sea level rise would certainly not foresee any problem with bringing peace to the world, would he? How has that worked out?)
Anyway, Trump has a big ego. But as a New York real estate tycoon it’s inevitable that he’s had to deal with lots of other big egos, and he understands that it’s inevitable that sometimes two big egos will meet. So they got along and Trump massaged Kim’s ego, (and he massaged his own), and in so doing, he moved the world an important first step away from nuclear war.
I’d call that a win-win-win. The South Koreans seem to think so and they certainly have more skin in the game than anyone else. But Progressivists, especially those afflicted with advanced Trump Derangement Syndrome have no concept of what win-win even means. Or else their animus towards Trump is so pathological that they’d rather leave South Korea under nuclear threat than see the US President have a win. That’s rather sick.
Isn’t it a fact that achieving a win-win is what the Art of the Deal is really all about?
For a very long time I have believed that there’s a need for an alternative to mainstream media. The Marxist/Socialist Project begun in the 1930s, which was literally called: “The Long Slow March Through the Institutions of the West”, has been largely successful.
Universities, and through them the teaching profession, the legal profession, most of the media, and even some of the Christian churches, have become totally infected with Marxist, Left-wing, Progressivist Left, neo-liberal ideology. The Long Slow March has even invaded the fields of economics and science.
So when Rebel Media was launched immediately after the collapse of Sun News, we supported them. But since then, I’ve often expressed concern about their sometimes overblown and emotional approach to news coverage. And last year, some very credible journalists left Rebel Media for that reason.
But I recently had the opportunity to attend a breakfast meeting of supporters of Rebel Media, hosted by Ezra Levant, and reporter / farmer’s wife / Irritant to the Progressivist Left, Sheila Gunn Reid. I thought you might be interested.
About 20 of us attended, and in my view, the tone of Ezra’s comments was very encouraging. Right up front, he acknowledged that Rebel Media had made some mistakes, and he pledged to continually become more professional. That’s a very positive stance, and I took him to be sincere.
The fact is, that Rebel Media does cover stories that no other media outlets are interested in. For instance, Sheila Gunn Reid related a hilarious story about her trip to the Bonn Climate Camp Meeting, or whatever it is that they should call these overtly religious shindigs. Rebel Media was banned from the event – as you’re aware, the Progressivist Left is extremely tolerant of your opinions, provided your opinions agree with their opinions – but they went anyway.
Now, some of the exhibits at this anti-fossil fuel alarm-fest, were housed in inflatable structures. As you’d expect, these structures were kept warm – it was November – and inflated, by electricity generated by windmills and solar panels.
Well, not exactly. In fact, attendees at this gathering of the Defenders of Gaia were kept warm and illuminated by……. diesel generators! Watch this 90 second video. In spite of their vital contribution, I doubt that Deutschland Diesel was on the list of supplier acknowledgements. Nor, I suspect, was there a session entitled: “Why Germany finds it necessary to continue building coal-fired generating plants.” The Progressivist Left’s disdain for reality could not be more starkly illustrated.
Here’s some good Rebel news for Sébastien Gorka fans. Dr. Gorka, who spent some time in the White House, has joined Rebel Media as a regular contributor. He’s originally from Hungary, and has personally experienced the chaotic consequences of Marxism/Communism/Socialism/and Nazi-ism, Bernie Sanders-ism, and all the other insidious isms of left-wing ideology.
There’s also some bad news. I won’t get into the details, but as with many other conservative organizations, Rebel Media is being actively undercut by the left-wing billionaires of Silicon Valley, at a major financial cost. But there’s a solution to this. Rebel media already has many thousands of subscribers, and just 10,000 more, at $8 a month, would more cover the loss in revenue.
So I encourage you and your family and friends to support one of the few conservative media outlets on the planet.
I’m Dave Reesor
