The Pandemic Plagued US Election

If it wasn’t for the pandemic, the US Presidential Election would be a Trump landslide. No, I’m not talking about the Covid-19 pandemic, I’m talking about the Trump Derangement Syndrome pandemic, or TDS.

I don’t like Donald Trump, don’t like his personality, his braggadocio, or narcissism. He’s a habitual BS’er although if you don’t have TDS, you recognize that Trump’s BS is just that, BS.

As in: “40,000 people at our “Make America Great Again rally”, but the police counted 20,000. Or: “Our depressed neighborhood investment initiative has seen investment of $100 billion!”, when the actual number to date is only about 30 or 40 billion, with 100 billion not projected until 2028.

Of course, when it comes to helping black Americans or depressed inner-city neighborhoods, Joe Biden doesn’t have a starting point from which to exaggerate. 47 years in Washington with  no significant accomplishment, of any kind, except consistently a racist, saying that black Americans all think alike, and that .. if you don’t automatically vote Democrat: “you ain’t black.”

Here’s BS from Barack upon his 2016 nomination as Democratic Presidential candidate: “…. this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow…….”  If BS bothers you, you’ll never step in a bigger pile.

But here’s a big LIE. “If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.” That was a carefully rehearsed lie from Obama/Biden, about Obamacare.

Joe Biden has a Masters in BS, but conservatives haven’t wasted time keeping track of it because they understand what it is. But when Joe Biden looks into the camera and says: “Not one American lost their health insurance because of Obamacare, that’s a big LIE.

And when Joe says that when he and son Hunter flew for 13 hours on Air Force Two, to China, but didn’t discuss Hunter’s business purposes for the trip, that’s a big, obvious, LIE.

Biden has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women, including one who accused him of rape. She’s prepared to take a lie detector test, Biden isn’t. Connect the dots unless your TDS disallows it.

In office for 47 years, Biden did nothing to counter China’s rapacious intellectual property theft, their suppression of human rights, their military buildup, and their bullying of their smaller neighbors around the South China Sea. Biden did nothing about North Korea, freeloading NATO allies, the criminally mismanaged Veteran Affairs, and NOTHING for black employment, or investment in inner cities. Trump has acted, decisively on all of the above.

VP candidate Kamala Harris is dangerous, and she could well become POTUS because of Joe’s dementia.  As California’s Attorney General she was totally ideological in the administration of justice, ignoring Planned Parenthood’s illegal trade in baby parts, but prosecuting the undercover reporters that exposed it. She has been described as: “… a politician with ‘frightening’ authoritarian instincts’.”

Trump’s problem is that he’s an outsider, he left the Left Wing / Democrat tribe, and so is regarded as a traitor, and he’s an imminent threat to the corrupt inhabitants of the Deep State/Swamp. I’ve been to Washington a couple of times and have seen the beautiful white marble buildings. I was reminded of Jesus’ rebuke to the Pharisees, when he told them that; on the outside you look like beautifully whitewashed sepulchers, but inside you’re a rotten mess. That’s Washington, before Trump. No wonder they hate him!

So I’m sorry to be so blunt, but it seems to me, that on November 3, anyone with a functioning moral compass should find it impossible to vote for the Biden/Harris Democratic ticket.

Donald Trump; the good and the bad.

dwr.jpgMost of you who’ve read my blogs know that I don’t suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, TDS. Nor do I suffer from its opposite number, Trump Adoration Syndrome, or TAS. I don’t care for Donald Trump’s New York brashness; his oratorical skills are mediocre; and he exaggerates a lot. Of course, Trump can’t hold a candle to Obama and the Clintons who are prolific and polished liars. (Trump’s supporters take him seriously, but not literally; his detractors taken literally but not seriously.)

But Trump’s accomplishments as President are many, solid, and transformative, in a positive direction. Furthermore, if, as is likely, he wins a second term this November, he’ll have an opportunity to undertake more of the gargantuan task of draining the Washington swamp. I’d love to see Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, John Brennan the Bidens and a few other nasty swamp critters headed for prison!

A lot of us have friends who have symptoms of, or even advanced cases of TDS.  I think this is largely attributable to grossly biased reporting by the mainstream media.  Independent research in the US indicates that approximately 92 percent of all media reporting is negative toward Trump.  In Canada, I’m guessing the negative bias would be north of 99 percent.  It’s small wonder that most Canadians have an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump.

But when I engage people in discussions about US politics I find that most detractors are hard pressed to come up with even one concrete example of an action Trump has taken that is fundamentally negative for the USA, or for their democratic system of governance. The nastiness has overwhelmingly originated, from day one, from left-wing media and Democrats, and no, Trump doesn’t turn the other cheek.

TrumpBut when one examines his record since being inaugurated in January 2017, Donald Trump’s accomplishments have already been many.  I try to keep a short-list of his significant accomplishments in the back of my mind so I can discuss them with friends suffering from TDS. Those of you  who support Trump’s presidency, even if not his personality, might want to do the same.

My personal talking points include record low unemployment for American Blacks and Hispanics; and an overdue initiative against China’s industrial espionage; appointment of judges who support the Constitution, and protection for freedom of speech, and other individual and religious rights and freedoms.

My friend Rod Blair has put together a longer, very meticulously researched list of Trump accomplishments . I’d recommend you pick a few points and make them your own. They will help you to sooth at least some of the symptoms of TDS in your family and friends.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Let’s Talk Pigs

DW Blog

More than enough has been written about the battle over the appointment of the latest US Supreme Court Justice, Brett Kavanaugh. But if you’ll indulge me, I’m going to write just a bit more, mostly for my American readers. And a warning; to say what I need to say requires me to be graphic.

Two years ago, incomprehensibly to most people, Donald Trump was legally elected as the president of the United States, this in spite of him being the least presidential, presidential candidate in American history. One of the many strikes against him was his checkered, and often piggish past, when dealing with women.

Since his election, the Democrats, and their allies in the media and entertainment industries have campaigned to drive him from office, in part, because of that past. They’ve feverishly opposed everything Trump has attempted, mostly unsuccessfully, including their latest attempt to block the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, a man who they also tried to portray as “a pig”.

KennedysSo, let’s talk pigs; but proven pigs, starting with the Kennedy brothers; Jack, Bobby, and Teddy.

Immediately after his marriage to Jacqueline Bouvier, (Jackie Kennedy), Jack Kennedy resumed his nonstop philandering ways, and didn’t relent until his assassination. While President, he routinely engaged in sex with a wide variety of women, often in the White House.

One of the women that had an affair with Kennedy, while he was the President, was Marilyn Monroe. At one event, a birthday party for Kennedy with Jackie in the audience, Ms. Monroe who was wearing a sexy skintight dress, sang a sultry; “Happy Birthday Mr. President”, to Kennedy, to his amusement and his wife’s embarrassment.

The president’s brother, Robert Kennedy, the US Attorney General at the time, also had an almost simultaneous affair with Monroe.

Teddy Kennedy was the youngest of the three Kennedy brothers. While a Senator, he got drunk at a party, and while heading back to his lodgings with a young woman who was not his wife, drove his car off Chappaquiddick bridge. He managed to swim ashore, but leaving the young woman in his car, he walked into town while pondering how to limit the damage to his political future. He didn’t report the accident for 10 hours. The investigation found that the young woman ran out of air after several hours, and drowned.

In spite of their proven, appalling behavior, the Kennedy brothers remain among the brightest stars in the New Left/Progressivist firmament.

Lyndon Johnson, the vice president who assumed the presidency after Kennedy’s assassination, was a well known, aggressive womanizer who often boasted that he’d.. “had more women by accident than Kennedy had on purpose.”

ClintonsLast, but far from least, the Clintons. Beginning with his time as Arkansas governor, and continuing during his time in the White House, Bill Clinton was followed by a trail of credible accusations of rape and sexual assault. His wife and recent presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton accused Bill’s accusers of being trailer trash and liars. I thought women were always to be believed, especially by the sisters?

Of course, the highlight of Clintons’s philandering while President, was his lopsided relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a young White House intern over whom he obviously had huge influence. On at least one occasion he amused himself by inserting a cigar into her vagina. On another occasion, he left a semen stain on that famous blue dress. If you’re too young to remember, Google it.

All this piggery in the Oval Office, and those in the Progressivist Left say Trump has stained it, just by being there? And they’re puzzled why more and more ordinary people think they’re nuts?

Recently, Hillary the feminist icon, blew Bill’s Oval Office affair off with: “They were both adults.” People like Hillary should make us throw up, except, we’re getting used to it.

But Don’t. Get used to it I mean. There’s a commonality among these people, and that is, that they behaved like pigs, or abused women, while they were in the Executive Branch, or in the White House, or even in the Oval Office. Their other commonality is that they all are, or were, Democrats.

Make sure your Democratic friends are aware of this on November 6th!

On Politics and Science

DW Blog

In Alberta Politics: Rachel Notley is really concerned that members of the extremist, anti-immigrant group called Soldiers of Odin (SOO) managed to crash a UCP candidate’s fundraiser at an Edmonton pub. The UCP has repudiated them. I’d say, get concerned when a Soldier of Odin becomes a member of the UCP caucus. Not going to happen.

But, the NDP actually has Marxists in their caucus. Marxism is that 20th century plague that destroyed economies around the world and killed a hundred million people. On the other hand, in the last 30 years since the downfall of Marxism, Capitalism has lifted a billion people out of poverty!

But the fact that Marxism and its various offspring; communism, fascism (think Antifa), and socialism, still retain any credibility whatsoever, is testament to the fact that far too many people let their emotions drive their actions instead of letting facts drive their emotions, and, from there, to action. Sadly, our universities, and even our schools are still polluted with Marxism friendly professors, and teachers, and they’re busily indoctrinating your children and grandchildren. Be alarmed!

What’s needed is cultural change, and it needs to start immediately, and we need to recognize that it will be a long term project. After all, the Marxists have spent the last 80 years taking their “long slow march through the institutions of the West.” Google that phrase, and be appalled by how successful they’ve been.

To US politics: Jordan Peterson recently tweeted that he thinks that Brett Kavanaugh, having been duly confirmed as an associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States, should reduce the political heat by stepping down. I disagree, and I suspect that on further reflection, Dr. Peterson will as well.

What Kavanaugh’s accuser said happened 35 years ago was not corroborated, but in fact, repudiated by each the four witnesses that she named. The evidence didn’t come remotely close to implicating Kavanaugh beyond a reasonable doubt, and that used to be the standard we went by.

For the past 60 years or so, Conservatives all over the Western world have been stepping down, backpedaling, and retreating because of pressure, lately manifesting as tantrums, by left-wing politicians, entertainers, and media. Conservatives need to get a backbone.

For Kavanaugh to have stepped down would send the message to the tantrum throwers, that they can control the political agenda just by “pitchin a fit” every time they’re unhappy, which is pretty much all the time. It’s time to shut that down, and Brett Kavanaugh spending the next 30 years on the Supreme Court is a good start.

And now to Science. I got thinking about Meritha’s closet the other day, and that got me thinking about Jordan Peterson’s monster bestseller; “12 Rules for Life, An Antidote to Chaos”. In one chapter, Peterson talks about lobsters and how both we and they arrange ourselves hierarchically, which is apparently due to a genetic connection we had millions of years ago. It’s in our DNA.

shoesI don’t know if anybody has, but I think it would be worthwhile to explore my hypothesis which is that women have an ancient genetic connection to centipedes.

Otherwise, why so many shoes?

**The photo is NOT of Meritha, or her closet! ( After 51 years, my survival instincts are honed)

For those of us in Western Canada, there’s good news because Autumn is (hopefully) coming next week! Autumn and winter got mixed up this year and winter came first. Climate change I presume?

Trump’s Win-Win Summit

Dave 07A Zero-Sum Game is a situation in which one person or group can win something only by causing another person or group to lose it. It’s a central tenet of the left -wing Progressivist worldview. If someone gets richer, then, in their view, someone else must get poorer.

A recent issue of The Economist magazine shows Trump astride a wrecking ball with the accompanying article bemoaning the way Trump is “wrecking” the norms of world trade, and diplomacy. (Which, by the way, is exactly what he was elected to do.)

Then in articles and newscasts, Progressivist media outlets like The Economist, CNN and their ilk, confidently predicted that Trump, because of his propensity to ignore the norms of diplomacy, was going to lose at his summit with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un. And in their worldview, they were proven right. The headline in the following week’s Economist was a play on Kim Jong Un’s name: “KIM JONG WON.”

12summit-handshake-jumbo-v4Well, yes he did. For a couple of days, one of the world’s worst characters was a leading figure on the world stage, and in the world’s media. He met face-to-face with the most powerful man in the world; the President of the United States. They stood side by side. Kim even won the concession that military exercises by the South Koreans and the United States would be suspended.

And in the Progressivist mind, since Kim won those victories, Trump must have lost. Because in the Progressivist mind, life is a zero-sum game.

Progressivists won’t acknowledge that in exchange for Trump suspending military exercises, Kim agreed to de-nuclearize the Korean Peninsula, and that if he fails to do that, the Americans and South Korean can simply resume military exercises and ratchet up the economic sanctions.

Progressivists like to point out that Trump has a big ego. Yes, and so does Kim Jong-Un. Incidentally, so does Barack Obama; otherwise how do you explain a singularly unaccomplished individual accepting a Nobel Peace Prize before he’d done anything?   Omama acceptance 2012An even moderately humble individual would’ve said: “How about we wait until after my first term and see how things have gone?” (But then, someone who began his run for the presidency by saying that he was going to end sea level rise would certainly not foresee any problem with bringing peace to the world, would he? How has that worked out?)

Anyway, Trump has a big ego. But as a New York real estate tycoon it’s inevitable that  he’s had to deal with lots of other big egos, and he understands that it’s inevitable that sometimes two big egos will meet. So they got along and Trump massaged Kim’s ego, (and he massaged his own), and in so doing, he moved the world an important first step away from nuclear war.

I’d call that a win-win-win. The South Koreans seem to think so and they certainly have more skin in the game than anyone else. But Progressivists, especially those afflicted with advanced Trump Derangement Syndrome have no concept of what win-win even means. Or else their animus towards Trump is so pathological that they’d rather leave South Korea under nuclear threat than see the US President have a win. That’s rather sick.

Isn’t it a fact that achieving a win-win is what the Art of the Deal is really all about?

Understanding Unemployment Statistics

Dave 07Until now, it’s been hard to wrap your head around Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin “the budget will balance itself” Trudeau’s understanding of economics. However, my cousin sent me this Bud Abbott and Lou Costello exchange which clearly and brilliantly illustrates how Justin’s thinking works, at least as regards unemployment statistics.

For your continuing education, I included a link at the end of this exchange, in which Lou Costello educates Bud Abbott on some of the finer points about how the marketplace works.

COSTELLO:    I want to talk about the unemployment rate in Canada

ABBOTT:        Good Subject.  Terrible Times.  It’s 5.6%.

COSTELLO:    That many people are out of work?

ABBOTT:         No, that’s 23%.

COSTELLO:    You just said 5.6%.

ABBOTT:         5.6% Unemployed.

COSTELLO:    Right, 5.6% out of work.

ABBOTT:         No, that’s 23%.

COSTELLO:    Okay, so it’s 23% unemployed.

ABBOTT:         No, that’s 5.6%.

COSTELLO:    WAIT A MINUTE.  Is it 5.6% or 23%?

ABBOTT:        5.6% are unemployed.  23% are out of work.

COSTELLO:    If you are out of work you are unemployed

ABBOTT:        No, Trudeau said you can’t count the “Out of Work”  as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.

COSTELLO:   BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!

ABBOTT:        No, you miss his point.

COSTELLO:   What point?

ABBOTT:        Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be counted with those who look for work.  It wouldn’t be fair.

COSTELLO:    To whom?

ABBOTT:        The unemployed.

COSTELLO:    But ALL of them are out of work.

ABBOTT:        No, the unemployed are actively looking for work.  Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.

COSTELLO:   So if you’re off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?

ABBOTT:        Unemployment would go down.  Absolutely!

COSTELLO:   The unemployment just goes down because you don’t look for work?

ABBOTT:        Absolutely it goes down.  That’s how it gets to 5.6%. Otherwise it would be 23%.

COSTELLO:    Wait, I got a question for you  That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?

ABBOTT:        Two ways is correct.

COSTELLO:    Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?

ABBOTT:        Correct.

COSTELLO:    And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?

ABBOTT:        Bingo.

COSTELLO:   So there are two ways to bring unemployment down,  and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.

ABBOTT:       Now you’re thinking like a Liberal.

COSTELLO:   I don’t even know what the hell I just said!

ABBOTT:       Now you’re thinking like Trudeau.

They’re Embarrassing!

Dave 07I’ve always readily affirmed that Donald Trump regularly does and says things that are embarrassing, ill considered, and too often detrimental to his own cause.

And of course, Canadians, especially those with a full blown case of DTS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) love to jump on these indiscretions and point out what an idiot the Americans have chosen for a President.

If you’re one of those, I’d suggest that you peruse the following photos. JT at Pride 2

JT at Pride

Now reflect on some of Justin Trudeau’s more famous observations, such as:  “the budget will balance itself; I admire China’s basic dictatorship; Fidel Castro was a great revolutionary; and, we can grow the economy from the heart outward. If you know what that means………

J A MacDonald150 years ago we had John A. MacDonald; flawed but with a vision for the Canadian Nation.

Now we have Justin Trudeau, announcing to the world that Canada is not a nation.

So reflect on this: Do we Canadians have any justification in jeering at the leader of the United States?

Trump Was Right!

Dave 07I’ve done a few blogs saying: “Trump is wrong,” so I think it’s fair, that in the interests of balance, but mostly because it’s true, that I point out that Trump got it right; on the Charlottesville riot, and on North Korea. I’ve been working on two blogs making the case for each assertion, but Conrad Black trumped me with his column in today’s National Post. It’s an excellent, and very readable analysis, and one which there is absolutely no chance you will see on the CBC, or in the Toronto Star, or the New York Times.

But here’s my take. Trump’s initial comment on Charlottesville was that there was blame on both sides. Unless you have a full blown case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, it should be obvious that there was. Because, like it or not, the white supremacist nutters had a permit to demonstrate. Like it or not, the so-called antifascist (Antifa) and Black Lives Matter nutters didn’t. Both sides came armed. They’re all racists and fanatics. There was blame on both sides. Both sides should be marginalized by decent society.

My perspective is that Nazis, Fascists, Marxists, Antifa, BLM, etc., are all part of the same dystopian tribe, and that the mayhem in Charlottesville was nothing more than a violent family feud; one that the police should have stopped long before someone died.

I detest everything that the neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klan stand for, but mostly I regard them as fools, best to to be ignored. Until Barack Obama unwisely spent eight years poking and blowing on the dying embers of race-based conflict in the United States, the KKK and neo-Nazis were largely ignored, which is the last thing they want. Based on his handling of race relations alone, Obama should have returned his Nobel Peace Prize.

Hitler ChamberlainOn North Korea. In 1994, President Bill Clinton paid the North Koreans $4 billion to end their nuclear program and bought “… Peace for our time.” Oh, sorry; I got my history mixed up. It was actually Neville Chamberlain who said that in 1938, after he bought peace by appeasing Hitler over Czechoslovakia. How did that work out?

Churchill, who at the time was regarded as an unstable warmonger, (sort of like Trump), because he advocated stopping Hitler, was ignored. If Churchill had been listened to, the cost of ending Hitler’s Third Reich in 1938/1939 would probably have been less than 1% of the 50 million who died during World War II, from 1939 to 1945.

Anyway, Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s trash talking dictator, recently threatened to send his missiles to Guam, which is a US territory in the South Pacific. Donald Trump said that such an action would result in North Korea being subject to an onslaught of fire and fury like the world has never seen. Obviously that’s trash talk from an unstable warmonger.

Kim Jong UnBut for some reason, Kim Jong Un just announced that he’ll allow Guam to exist for a while longer.

Sleep well!

Stop Feeding the Critters!

Dave 07I’ve been fortunate enough to travel a bit, mostly on business, and one of my favourite places is Washington DC. I’ve visited the monuments – the Lincoln Memorial is, to use the word appropriately for once, awesome. It takes more insight than I can comprehend to convey what Lincoln did at Gettysburg, using only 270 words.

And the Vietnam War Memorial is pure genius; nothing but a black granite wall engraved with the names of 58,000 Vietnam vets who died in that conflict. Vietnam Memorial.jpgIt begins as a wedge and gradually heightens, building emotion as you walk along it. 58,000 names truly is overwhelming. But then you think of the American Civil War with more than 600,000 dead, or the 20th century with over 100 million civilian deaths, killed mostly by the Communists, or the National Socialists / NAZIS, for the greater good of an imagined utopian state. Socialism’s ultimate experiments.

But underneath the facade of the inspiring monuments and beautiful buildings, Washington DC is a swamp. (I guess because I’m an old farm boy the picture in my mind is more of a barnyard that hasn’t been cleaned out for decades. It’s a breeding ground for maggots, and a nasty mess, and whoever gets around to cleaning it is going to get nasty.)

But let’s stick with the contemporary metaphor. Donald Trump says he’s gone to Washington to “drain the swamp.” That’s good, because last November the American electorate hired him to do exactly that.

Unsurprisingly, the Swamp Critters don’t like it.

Because if you’ve followed American politics like I have, since November 1963, you’ve come to realize that the Washington swamp grows darker and murkier by the decade. Swamp Critter Elitists have increasingly taken control, and they include many – not all –  Democratic and Republican politicians, lobbyists, lawyers, leeches – oh yeah, I already mentioned the lobbyists and lawyers , and the bureaucracy which is often known as the deep state.

And many bureaucrats in the deep state are convinced that politicians come to Washington to learn how things work, rather than the other way around. And by the way, the deep state bureaucracy in Ottawa is just as convinced. Their view is that if a political party doesn’t lean Progressivist Left, they have no right to the levers of power, no matter what the electorate has said.

And of course, Washington’s (and Ottawa’s) self-styled Elites also include the media, and while they aren’t officially part of government apparatus, they’re definitely Swamp Critters.

Considering that Trump Derangement Syndrome has reached pandemic levels, the administration has nevertheless made admirable headway over the last six months in reducing or eliminating dozens of job-killing regulations.

For the first time ever, there seems to be an awareness in Washington that, vis-à-vis North Korea, kicking the can down the road is no longer an option. Illegal immigration is way down; the stock market, and permanent jobs, are up.

There have indeed been too many amateur hour stumbles, and too many ill-advised Tweets (Somebody, please, Duck Tape His Thumbs!), but the simple fact is that American voters hired Trump because they were sick of professional politicians.

And put the worst spin on it that you will; the Trump crowd’s sometimes unwise, but so far, non-criminal interactions with the Russians, pale in comparison to Hillary Clinton’s clearly criminal carelessness with classified emails, destruction of evidence, perjury, and influence peddling.

Add to that the fact that if Hillary had moved into the White House, Bill would have moved in there with her. Interns beware!

Swamp-Thing-25-00.pngI’m not a huge Donald Trump fan, but I’m a Yuge fan of what he was hired to do, and I genuinely hope for his success.

But he’ll need to smarten up, and learn to STOP FEEDING THE CRITTERS!

Soon please!

Regarding Omar Khadr

Dave 07I realize that I have a gift for occasionally making everybody mad, and this may be one of those occasions. As I’ve been able to uncover them, here are the facts.

Omar Khadr’s parents were both born elsewhere, his father in Egypt. They met and married in Canada and the children, including Omar, were born here. Therefore, Omar is a natural, rather than naturalized, Canadian citizen.

The elder Khadrs were not interested in integrating into Canadian society. They supported terrorist organizations, and the parents should never have been allowed into Canada in the first place.

Omar KhadrOmar was immersed in Islamic radicalism from the time he was born. When he was 15, and still legally a child under his parents control, he was taken by his father to Afghanistan where at the end of a firefight with American soldiers, he threw a grenade which killed one American soldier and wounded another. His father was killed.

Omar was apprehended and even though he was technically a child soldier at the time of the incident, he was convicted by a US military court and spent 10 years in Guantánamo Bay Cuba, during which time he claimed he was tortured. There has been no proof.

There is no question that he is a Canadian citizen, and that he did not receive Canadian standards of justice. It is also clear that he has not, since returning to Canada, made a serious effort to dissuade other young Canadians from following in his footsteps.

I suppose I could stop there because I probably already have made everyone mad at me by trying to give both sides of the story. If we ever needed King Solomon to come back and adjudicate an issue, now would be the time.

My view is that any Khadrs, or any other immigrants born elsewhere, who actively support terrorist organizations, should have their citizenship revoked, and be expelled.

But Omar Khadr is a Canadian born, Canadian citizen. I don’t trust him, but he was not treated properly according to Canadian law, and therefore should be compensated.

And 10.5 million is way too much.

Tear a strip off me on my blog site, and I’ll post your comments.
